At YOLARA, we are on a mission to create a brighter, more equitable future for young individuals in need. Our organization is committed to fighting for the rights of children and young individuals, particularly those who face socio-economic challenges and legal hurdles. We believe that every young person deserves a fair chance to succeed and thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.

We envision a world where every young person has access to justice, education, and economic empowerment. We believe that by leveling the playing field, we can unlock the full potential of our youth, paving the way for stronger communities and a brighter future for all.

OUR AREAS OF FOCUS

Access to justice :We provide pro bono legal representation to marginalized and disadvantaged children and youths from low income backgrounds who are unable to afford legal representation. We also train and equip paralegals with the knowledge and tools necessary for them to provide local communities with legal guidance, creating ripples of change at the grassroots level.
Protection: We work tirelessly to protect children and young individuals from all forms of abuse, exploitation, discrimination, and neglect. Our dedicated team of experts is actively engaged in legal advocacy, policy reform, and community outreach to create a protective shield around children and youths.
Community Education: We engage in community outreach and education efforts to inform children and youths about their legal rights and responsibilities. We do this by conducting workshops, producing informational materials and hosting legal clinics.
Economic Empowerment: we provide vocational skills training to children and youths in order to empower them with the skills and knowledge that can lead to self- employment and personal development guaranteeing them a successful and sustainable future.
Research and Advocacy: We conduct research on issues affecting the rights of children and youths, and use the findings to advocate for change. By generating evidence-based recommendations, we strive to improve the lives of young individuals and hold institutions accountable for their well-being.
Combating Harmful Practices: We are committed to eradicating practices such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and child marriages, ensuring that young lives are not marred by harmful traditions.
Addressing Domestic Violence: We are dedicated to eradicating domestic violence towards children. We believe that awareness and education are essential tools in preventing domestic violence towards children and young individuals. We conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns in schools, communities, and online platforms to educate children, youths, parents, teachers, and the general public about recognizing, reporting, and preventing abuse.
